From an iPhone Snap to a fully Rendered Scene with GenAI

1 • Snapped a Photo
We have had a torrent of rain the past several weeks in my part of North Carolina, and I guess it was just the right combination to produce a few more buds on the Gardenia. I love their fragrance, so plucked them and put them in a little green vase. Walking past it several times during the day - I thought to snap a photo - wondering if I could use a little GenAI magic to inspire a totally new scene.
2 • Took it to Photoshop…
Nothing fancy here… I just opened the image in Photoshop and masked out the background. The earth tones of the vase were almost blending into the surroundings, and even though Photoshop has a “remove background” - it did not work well with this particular image. More time masking than expected. If I knew how I might use the image, I probably would have shot it against a contrasting background for easier knockout and better color clarity. But the IMAGE was only to be a reference - not the final result.
