Beginner’s Guide • Influencing prompt renders using style references to get the results for which you are looking.
Along with the introduction of Midjourney V6, something came shortly thereafter called Style Reference. Before then and in prior versions, you could use an image as a reference (as we have already covered) and the elements that made up that image could influence (like an ingredient added to the preparation of a meal) the overall flavor of the finished product. With the introduction of Style Reference, “you can use images … in your prompt to influence the style or aesthetic of images you want Midjourney to make.” This functionality can be applied to both MJ V6 and Niji 6. To add a style reference to your prompt, use --sref <URL> at the end of your prompt - where the URL is an image whose influence you want to impact your render.
