Test Driving - Clova

I try to keep my finger on the pulse of the latest drops in AI tools and platforms. The latest ‘game’ in productivity is not single solution tools, but rather integrated systems and fresh ways to approach the creation of specific functionality. One of these is Clova, and AI tool built in 2025 by a SF team of 3. The funny thing here - is to go to that link and read what the intent originally was for the tool (still looking for that solution), and what it is today. In 2025, “Clova is the AI assistant that turns hours of raw video into perfectly organized, ready‑to‑edit clips in seconds, eliminating the tedium of manual sorting and letting editors focus on creativity.” Which is NOT what the current platform offers.

Clova today, is a tool that on its landing page defines its purpose as “Create AI videos in One Platform.” That single sentence summary is tough. From a branding perspective, we try to create the billboard headline / tagline with 7 words or less to narrowly define and explain your purpose in the world. With so many competitors in the AI video space - this is a bold move, but not totally without justification.

So, what does Clova have, that others do not?

That is an important question. On the opening page, it highlights a number of things we are all familiar with in other places of access:

• AI Video Generation - Create full videos instantly from text, prompts, or scripts.

• Image to Video - Generate images in-app and turn them into videos instantly.

• Model Support - Run on Veo 3, Kling 2.1, and other top AI video models.

• Viral Templates - Create faster with templates made to go viral.

This is has been true of many other platforms to date from FreePik, to Leonardo, to OpenArt, to LTX, to even Adobe Firefly. But there are 3 thing that make this a little bit unique, and the third - might be the most valuable, unlisted capability. I will share that with you in just a bit.

But I will have to say, at this present time, Clova is lacking on the front side. If you do not happen to like the 5 styles available for your structured look then you are hampered a bit in your creation.
