Welcome to the AI Lab!
Read Me First!
Hello! Welcome to the AI Lab. a newsletter about generative-AI for the Creative Professional that goes out daily during the work week to around 1,500 people. I am fairly new in the Substack space, only getting into the newsletter waters in January of 2024.
This is at its heart, an exploration of the various tools of AI, insights into what they can accomplish, and a practical series of How To’s for using them. In June of 2022, I had started a full-time deep dive into learning about generative AI, and by September 1 of 2022, I started an exploration share on a daily basis on LinkedIn, that I called ‘A.I. Explore’ - and my LinkedIn followers grew from 3k to over 16k. By September 28, 2022 - I released my first book - “A.I. Explore: Prompt Fundamentals” that went on to sell over 1000 copies (which I discovered later - exceeds 94% of ALL published authors!)

In November, I totally updated the book to reflect the updates in Midjourney to V4. By January, I released my second book - “A.I. Explore: Tips, Tricks & Rules to Break.”
Next came 2 group Collaborations - where I had 9 other AI creators each produce 1 lesson on AI. “A.I. Explore Collaborations” Book 1 included chapters from Jonatahn Ijzerman, Matt Garbutt, JnGospel Ebere, Ben Currier, Nejc Susec, Dennis Ascienzo, Amr Tahtawi, Travis Hinkle and Margarida Barreto - and myself (who also structured and organized the book).
“A.I. Explore Collaborations” Book 2, was a month later and featured contributions from: Carlos Aledo, Jon Porter, Roberto Avila, Sherry Horowitz, Big Al Gruswitz, Alexandra Brillemburg, Carlos Garavito, Joshua McMahon, Pratyush Sur and myself.
Next came a piece that was started as an exploration between Big Al and myself - “A.I. Explore: Snack Sized Prompts and $5 Words” - and what we composed ended up being a compendium of impact words in AI use.
So, I like to write, and to help people understand things.
The nature of LinkedIn posts, is they are hard to dig back through and find (even when we are the ones who created them), so I wanted to have a repository of my deep-dives, explorations and writings for those who want to better understand and use these tools.
Why subscribe?
Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and publication archives. The range of AI subjects (and tools) covered, is simply overwhelming. But the daily insights are a HUGE asset to anyone seeking understanding and clarity in a self-paced manner of delivery.
